TrustyTime against nine buyer checks
Each point is something you need settled before paying, checked against what TrustyTime publishes on their own pages.
Each point is marked against what TrustyTime publishes, or marked not stated where they publish nothing. No clause is scored on reputation or on what anyone says about them.
1 · Payment
Reversible payment offered
Cards taken on site: VISA, MasterCard, AMEX, JCB, Discover. A card payment can be disputed, which is the only protection that survives a seller going quiet.
Result: Confirmed
Incentive to pay irreversibly
5 percent off for Western Union, bank transfer or Bitcoin. The saving is real and so is what you give up for it.
Result: Present
2 · After sale
Written warranty term
6 months, published plainly rather than offered as a conversation.
Result: Stated
Scope of cover
Movement only. Excluded by name: straps, crown, glass, bracelets. Those are the parts that wear on a watch worn daily.
Result: Movement only
Water damage
Not covered unless the separate waterproofing service is bought at checkout.
Result: Excluded
Parts and accessories
TrustyTime sells parts and accessories separately. They carry no warranty.
Result: Not covered
3 · Inspection and cancellation
Pre-dispatch inspection
Photographs in front, back, bracelet views, plus a photograph of the watch on the calibration machine with its timing reading. This is more than most sellers provide.
Result: Confirmed
Response window
24 hours. The order is treated as approved and ships automatically. Silence counts as approval, so a missed email ships the watch.
Result: 24 hours
Cancellation
Once QC pictures are issued the order cannot be cancelled.
Result: Closed at QC
4 · Refunds and disclosure
Cost of a refund
25 percent restocking fee, applied at their discretion on most returns for refund. A refund is issued within 24 hours of them inspecting the returned item.
Result: 25% fee
Timing tolerance published
Published by movement type rather than as a single marketing figure. Swiss ETA, Asia clone ETA, quartz: +/- 10 seconds. Asia 7750 automatic chronograph: +/- 10 to 30 seconds. Asia 2813 and 4813 automatic: +/- 10 to 15 seconds.
Result: Published
Sound on payment. Thin after the sale.
Four clauses pass and five are limited. TrustyTime is not a risk to your money, because you can pay by card and dispute it. It is a risk to your patience: a 6 month movement-only warranty, a 25 percent refund fee and a 24 hour window that closes on silence. Buy from them expecting no support and the purchase makes sense. Expect support and it will not.
Their coupon programme is genuine, incidentally: a weekly newsletter that carries discount codes. We cover what actually moves the price.
Where we differ
We are not neutral and the disclosure sits at the foot of every page. The comparison worth making is clause 2.2 and clause 3.2, because those are the two that cost buyers real money.
Our warranty is 24 months on the whole watch, in writing, not the movement alone. And we place no time limit on QC approval. Nothing ships because you did not reply in a day.
Iain Merrick, assessment and testing. Iain times, opens and photographs replica watches, then writes the results down in the same form every time so two sellers can actually be compared. He sells them too, which is stated at the foot of every page. Last checked 2026-08-30.
